Power of Movement was founded by Andreas Mock and Jürgen Schlachter with guest musicians such as Lee (son of famed bluesman, John) Mayall on sax and vocalist Isabelle Numbamjum, among others. A dazzling assortment of ethnic percussion plus sax, keyboards, guitar and exotic sounds will certainly make your dancing feet happy! Their musics shamanic spirit and lyrical vocal expressions are suitable for aerobics, stretching, commuting, and stress relieving activities. Historically, trance dance music has been an effective tool to get people out of their heads. The Sufis are masters of this, though trance music has an important place in virtually all of the worlds most ancient and revered cultures.
Andreas continues "Jürgen and I believe in the liberating power of sound. We deliberately chose specific chords, tones, and rhythm patterns which most easily center the listeners attention on the music; as the music progresses from one track to the next, the listener will feel an overpowering urge to move, to allow the body freedom of expression, so that the soul can express physically those things which may not be spoken. Trance music allows one to express the inexpressible through freeing the flesh, to attempt communication with and celebration of the divine essence within each of us. |
