|Dancers Dream is a trio of good friends who have played together for many years: Friedhelm Schock, Dagmar Altroggen and Heidrum Menzel.
Friedhelm Schock is a longtime and highly sought after studio musician who performs on guitar, percussion, singing bowls, chimes and many other instruments; his original compositions are positively influenced by a deep involvement with mysticism, esoterics and Jungian psychology. In addition to performing live with Dancers Dream and a number of European jazz ensembles, he is the business manager of a spiritual bookstore.
Dagmar Altroggen studied violin and percussion at the renowned Folkwang School of Essen, before performing and recording classical orchestral compositions with several European symphonies as well as avant garde pieces with such internationally acclaimed artists as John Cage. After studying meditation for many years in India and Nepal, she has opened a spiritual bookshop in Marburg while continuing to record and tour with Dancers Dream. She also teaches violin to private students, believing that "we must mentor the new artists, the next generation, so that all may have the gift of music forever to enjoy.
Heidrun Menzel specializes in soprano, alto and tenor flutes. Like Dagmar, she graduated from the Folkwang School, going on to perform with the Ensemble For Traditional Music And Dance, as well as many critically hailed folk groups before joining Dancers Dream. Her solo album, "Mariposa, received such positive notices from music journalists that she received invitations to perform and record with many of Europes most cutting edge sound specialists and helped to create such unusual musical forms as avant-garde block flute music, among other styles.
